In January of 2025, the Western Kentucky Track and Field team suffered an unimaginable loss, their head coach, Brent Chumbley. In honor of him and legacy he left on the team and University, they renamed the Hilltopper Relays meet to the Brent Chumbley Memorial Hilltopper Relays. The athletes put on their best performances and showed out for their Coach during the first official meet in his honor.
